2007-01-28 - We are still alive

Hmmm, looking on the blog entries here it seems that this site is dead. But please don't think so. We have done really much since the last blog entry. The announced betas had been for Squeak. But after a short time we decided to make a major change. Our favorite Smalltalk environment is now Cincom VisualWorks. It is portable, complete, stable, and has a very good performance. And there's a company behind it, which gives us more security than the Squeak community (even if Squeak is still a great software, but without a clear line for application developers).

So we ported our software to VisualWorks, made major refactorings, and focussed on our own persistency strategies for the TidelandSmalltalkObjectStore. Much of it is documented at SosWorkItems where you can follow the project progress. We are now very close to the relaunch of the new beta. So please stay tunded.
